Bumbu’s heritage isn’t justhistorical – it’s geological. Unlike most Caribbean islands (formed byvolcanos), Barbados was created by coral reefs. Here, our ground water ispurified as it’s forced through our natural limestone, making Barbadian watersome of the finest in the world.

This exceptionally pure water,coupled with carefully selected sugarcane from across the Caribbean and SouthAmerica, lends the lightness and smoothness that’s central to Bumbu’sremarkable drinkability. Pure Bajan water forms a part of each bottle of Bumbu.

Bumbu Original is made at ahistoric Barbadian distillery founded in 1893 and continuously operated formore than 120 years. Our rum is distilled using two continuous stills. Theyeast used during fermentation is a distillery secret that dates back as far as1840, when some of our original iron pot stills were cast.
