The Kastehelmi series has been a favourite in the Iittala collection at the renowned Finnish glassworks for over fifty years. Designed in 1964 by Oiva Toikka, the idea of using droplets of glass was originally devised as a way of concealing joint marks left in the glass as a side effect of the production process. The resulting circles of tiny glass bubbles significantly enhanced the optical quality of the glass giving each piece its unique quality and the range its Kastehelmi ‘dewdrop’ name.

No less stylish and just as practical as they were back in the 1960s, Kastehelmi tumblers are a joy to drink from – far lighter than you would expect, they are ideal for water and a perfect companion to gin and tonic.
