Tequila: JLP Blanco
JLP Blanco Tequila is triple distilled and made with 100% pure agave from the Amatitan region of Jalisco, Mexico.
Size: 750ML
Proof: 80 (40% ABV)
Origin: Mexico
Distillery: Productos Finos de Agave NOM 1416
distillery that crafts two of my favorite brands, Casamigos, and Avion. JLP is named for Jesus Lopez Portillo Y Galindo the former governor of the Villa of Tequila. He granted a hacienda to Jose Antonio in the name of King Carlos III of Spain. Jose’s daughter Maria married Vincente Albino Rojas and they would become the first to receive a concession from King Carlos IV of Spain to produce tequila. JLP is made with estate grown agave that is slow cooked in stone ovens for 72 hours and then cooled before the juice is extracted. After fermenting for 52 hours with a proprietary yeast the tequila is double distilled.
JLP Blanco Tequila Tasting Notes
Nose: The aroma is floral and earthy agave with a tropical fruit backing.
Palate: The sweet tropical fruit entry is joined by floral and agave flavor. Citrus arrives at the midpoint. Instead of fading, an oily citrus and pineapple fruit flavor follows, before finishing with a warm mineral peppery sting.
Finish: Finishes with a long, elegant gently spicy fade.
